As a parish community, we recognize the need to accommodate an aging senior population in our parish. The Parish Council believes that remodeling and improvements are necessary to ensure that all parishioners can participate more fully in our church life and activities.
Your Parish Council has been looking at ways to make our church more accessible. Exploring a remodel to add an ADA-accessible bathroom on the main floor, improve access to Fellowship Hall for those who have difficulty with the stairs, and install a new ramping system at the front entrance so parishioners who need ramps can enter with the rest of the congregation.
As you know, these improvements will have significant costs. The Council has been exploring ways to fund the improvements. They have applied for grant money from the Diocese, and we have been obtained permission to sell two of the lots east of the rectory and we will be working with a contractor to start the remodeling process.
We will share the design plans with all of you as soon as they have been approved by the City of Priest River, along with the schedule for when construction will begin.
Please reach out to Berta or Father Reggie if you have any questions or concerns.
